Remember when we went on dates,

Ate pizza,

Drank,

We even ate a whole cheesecake.

Remember when those words of mine,

Could turn back the hands of time.

Remember when we were worried of,

The class at 7am and if we’d wake up.

Remember when I’d walk your way,

And flash a smile that made your day.

Me too.

Remember when I said, “ok.”

And brushed you off with little to say.

Remember when I said, “Well see,”

And showed no faith in you and me.

Remember when you said, “No more!”

A left me reeling at your door.

Me too.

And I know you’re through.

But please I have one more thing to say to you…

“All this time together we’ve spent,

The laughs and tears and places we went,

Can’t replace the pain this heartache is,

But I had some problems I needed to deal with,

And that’s the truth of all this.

I know that it was a deep and crushing blow,

To have someone you love, rip out your soul,

And for that, how sorry I am you will never know.

This is not some tale I want to sell,

Not some sappy love poem from hell,

Or a lie to brandish as the truth.

Not some quick way to say, “I love you.”

Things don’t always go to plan,
