Hallow Dreams

Think about what makes you happy,

And then take it away.

Show yourself the ultimate joy,

Then replace it with pain.

Dreams often don’t come true,

But what if they did for you?

What if you said, “I’m never leaving”

And then we’re forced away.

What if God told you a secret?

And said you had to keep it,

If your dreams could all come true,

But all you loved escaped you.

Your passion and romance and ultimate desire,

Destroyed all you built, in one self-destructive fire.

Could our dreams be everthying we’ve ever wanted them to be,

Yet mean,

Absolutely nothing.
